We are now inviting applications to fill multiple tenure-line faculty positions in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. The successful candidates for  these positions will benefit from the resources, support, and a multidisciplinary research environment fostered by Sichuan University, University of Pittsburgh, and other partnering institutions around the globe. Sichuan University, Sichuan Province, and Chinese government have existing programs with special funding support for eligible junior faculty. More information can be found below. 

Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI), located in Chengdu, China, invites applications to fill two tenure-line faculty positions in the areas of Materials Science and Engineering at Assistant or Associate Professor level. Both positions are to start from late-August 2019 (2019 Fall Semester) or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Applicants should have a PhD or ScD by the time of hire and expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: computational and data science in materials, energy materials, optoelectronic materials, piezotronics and sensing materials, quantum materials, biomaterials, polymer science, or metallurgy. Successful applicants should have the ability to build an externally funded research program, as well as contribute to the teaching mission of the Institute. Effective oral and written communication in English is required, as English is the official language of the Institute. Terms of employment, including salary, relocation, and start-up packages are competitive and on par with similar offers by universities in North America.

Both positions are to start from late-August 2019 (2019 Fall Semester) or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Applicants should have a PhD or ScD by the time of hire and expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: production system, operations research, data science, applied statistics, risk management, engineering management, health system, ergonomics and human factors. Successful applicants should have the ability to build an externally funded research program, as well as contribute to the teaching mission of the Institute. Effective oral and written communication in English is required, as English is the official language of the Institute. Terms of employment, including salary, relocation, and start-up packages are competitive and on par with similar offers by universities in North America.
