The third teaching seminar on Active Learning, Inductive Teaching, and the Relationship Between the Two led by Dr. Kevin Quan was held successfully on 12:40 – 13:40, June 3rd at room 204, Zone 4. The seminar started by participants’ evaluating deductive and inductive teaching methods in group discussions. The discussion was implemented using the “think-pair-share” (TPS) technique with pre-designed flaws. After the discussion, participants were asked by the seminar host to rate his performance on the TPS section and offer suggestions to improve.  The seminar was then closed by a warm and constructive discussion over the relationship between active learning and inductive teaching and possible flaws when implementing both methods.

As part of the teaching excellence program at SCUPI, the teaching seminar with continue next semester.
