Students from the SCUPI awarded Best Paper at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Deep Learning and Computer Vision

From June 6 to June 8, 2025, faculty and students from the Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute participated in the 2025 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Deep Learning and Computer Vision (IEEE DLCV 2025), held in Jinan, Shandong Province.
The conference was organized by the IEEE China Council and the University of Jinan, co-organized by Changsha University of Science and Technology, and supported by the IEEE Shandong Section. IEEE DLCV 2025 focused on cutting-edge research in computer vision and deep learning, aiming to provide an international platform for experts, scholars, engineers, and researchers to share their scientific achievements and latest technologies. The event served as a venue to discuss key issues and challenges in the field, promoting the synergy between academic research and industry development.

A total of nearly 200 papers were submitted to the conference, with over 100 high-quality papers accepted. Seven papers from our institute were accepted, covering a wide range of research areas including computer vision, natural language processing, and medical artificial intelligence. These papers were supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Yuqi Ouyang and Associate Professor Dr. Guangwu Qian. The titles and student authors of the accepted papers are as follows:

- Cross-Frequency Pulsar Noise Prediction via LSTM with GAN-Based Data Augmentation Author: Qingye Tang (Undergraduate, Class of 2022)
- A Spectrogram-Based Learning Approach for Knee Joint Analysis Authors: Jian Yuan, Jilong Zhang (Undergraduates, Class of 2022)
- Blood Biomarker-Based Machine Learning Triaging Model for Predicting the Risk of Cognitive Decline Progression from Mild Cognitive Impairment Authors: Jiuyue Yin, Xiaoyue Yu, Jiayi Pan (Undergraduates, Class of 2023)
At the conference, the paper “Cross-Frequency Pulsar Noise Prediction via LSTM with GAN-Based Data Augmentation” by Qingye Tang was awarded the Best Paper Award at IEEE DLCV 2025.
In addition, the special session titled “Deep Learning and Computer Vision: Emerging Applications”, organized by Assistant Professor Dr. Yuqi Ouyang and Associate Professor Dr. Guangwu Qian, stood out among numerous parallel sessions and was honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award at IEEE DLCV 2025.

This conference not only showcased the innovative thinking and research capabilities of students from the Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute in the fields of deep learning and computer vision, but also reflected the institute’s proactive engagement and international perspective in cutting-edge artificial intelligence research.
Through in-depth exchanges with experts and scholars from China and abroad, participating students broadened their academic horizons and strengthened their confidence in scientific research. Looking ahead, the institute will continue to encourage students to take part in high-level academic conferences, promote the integration of industry, academia, and research, and cultivate well-rounded technological talents with global competitiveness.
