In response to the rapid development of electronic information technology and intelligent industry, SCUPI launched the Electrical and Computer Engineering major in 2022, systematically enhancing its academic framework and instructional resources. The newly established Electrical and Computer Engineering Teaching Laboratory, equipped with function generators, oscilloscopes, and other devices, now serves as a comprehensive platform for foundational experiments, system design, and innovative projects. This laboratory enriches the Institute’s teaching facilities and provides support for students’ practical innovation.

In designing lab teaching projects, such faculty members as Lawrence Lam and Fashu Xu… collaborated closely with lab engineer Chen Wu to develop 5 lab courses. These courses encompass nearly 50 lab projects, guided by the objectives of “consolidating professional foundations, enhancing engineering practices, stimulating innovative thinking, and broadening applied perspectives.” The lab courses include Linear Circuits, Digital Circuits, Embedded Systems, Microelectronic Circuits, and Electronic Circuit Design.

Currently, all lab projects have been integrated into the courses. Faculty members are continually refining these projects based on teaching outcomes, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the electronic information field.

Looking ahead, SCUPI will intensify efforts to develop lab courses that combine engineering technology with information technology while incorporating intelligent technology to revitalize traditional disciplines.
