BIOGRAPHY:

Professor John Pien joined SCUPI in September 2022.  Prior to that he held a faculty position with the University of Notre Dame from 1985 to 1989.  He then worked in the industry in the areas of research and development, product design and manufacturing, technology management and corporate management, with the Aluminum Company of America in Pittsburgh, the Chenhsong Injection Molding Machinery Group, the Foxconn Technology Group, and the latest in the Danish Grundfos Pump Group, before joining SCUPI.

John received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982 and 1985. His research and work experiences include thermal sciences, material processing, design optimization, lean manufacturing, and sustainability development.
