Dr. Wu mainly talked about three parts: introduction to the competition, project selection and competition process. She pointed out that the “Internet+” Competition is a national competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education and local governments with 8-year-history. It is recognized as one of the most significant competitions in China. This competition has been getting more and more attention from the society, and the enthusiasm of teachers and students to participate in the competition has been rising constantly.
In terms of project selection, Dr. Wu explained in details the requirements and evaluation criteria of the competition, and shared practical experience using previous winning projects examples. She especially emphasized that the topics of projects should focus on the applications in the industries, contributions to the society, and the compatibility between the technology and the scenario. Projects results should have both economic and social values. Dr. Wu’s presentation inspired students and instructors to better prepare and optimize their own projects.
Finally, Dr. Wu briefly introduced the entire process of the competition, including registration, projects submission, jury evaluation and on-site competition, and she also addressed some important issues that need to be paid attention to, such as selection of different tracks, judging criteria and so forth.
Q&A Session
After the preparation, project ideas and questions were put forward in the Q&A session, and Dr. Wu provided useful suggestions to instructors and students. SCUPI will continue to provide support for instructors and students who participate in the “Internet+” competition and help them to make achievements in the competition.
