The Director of Administration of SCUPI Presented at the Inaugural Academic Annual Meeting of Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy (CSEDS)

In the morning of November 19th, 2016, the Inaugural Academic Annual Meeting of the International Education Committee (IEC) of CSEDS was successfully held on the Haining International Campus of Zhejiang University. Distinguished guests, scholars, and experts from the Ministry of Education, higher education entities, IEC, and high school alliances attended this meeting.

The Inaugural Academic Annual Meeting of IEC, CSEDS, November 29, 2016 Haining The annual meeting was themed as “opening up China’s education to the outside world properly, advancing the internalization of ‘double first-rate’ construction.” The President of Peking University, the Dean of the Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University, and the Executive Vice President of Zhejiang University made keynote speeches regarding higher education management transformation, international development strategy, and China-foreign joint collaborations; experts from MOE briefed and interpreted recent publicized policy about opening up China’s education to the outside world in depth. Vivi (Wei) Tang, Director of Administration of SCUPI was invited as a guest speaker to the meeting, presented a report titled “Toward ‘Double First Rate’: a View from a Sino-US Collaborative Institute” in one of the trilogy forums. Ms. Tang shared SCUPI’s strategic mission and features, especially elaborated on how to promote active learning and learner-centered pedagogy theoretically and practically from the perspective of establishing world class disciplines as an engineering collaborative institute. In addition, Ms. Tang summarized highlights of keynote speeches delivered on last weekend’s SCUPI-organized and Blackboard China-sponsored “double first rate” symposium in Chengdu, covering quality education, optimization of administrative mechanism, and rethinking the relationship between research, industry, university ranking, and advancement of technological innovation.

Vivi (Wei) Tang, Director of Administration of SCUPI delivered a report on one of the trilogy forums
