2024.11 Successful Bay Area Alumni Gathering Strengthens SCUPI Community

On November 16, 2024, the Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) Alumni Association successfully held an alumni gathering in Shenzhen. Through the platform of the association, graduates from the Class of 2019 — the Institute’s first graduating cohort — through to the Class of 2024 came together in Shenzhen. For many, this event marked their first in-person reunion since graduation.

On the day of the event, the Deans and alumni took a stroll through Shenzhen Bay Park. Although the weather was initially overcast due to the aftermath of a typhoon, the skies soon cleared. The sunshine after the rain mirrored the warmth of the reunion, and the joy of the gathering remained undiminished.
During the evening exchange session, Dean Chyu and Associate Dean Mai took the stage to share the latest developments at the Institute and conveyed their deep expectations for the future of the alumni association. Their remarks were filled with sincere affection and earnest hopes for the alumni. They listened attentively to each alumnus’s reflections and, with genuine warmth, extended an open invitation for all to frequently return to their alma mater and feel the enduring sense of home.
In this heartfelt atmosphere, every alumnus present felt the continuous care and encouragement from SCUPI. Participants shared openly, exchanging valuable experiences and memorable stories from their life journeys, further strengthening the bonds of friendship.
Throughout the relaxed and engaging exchange, the Deans and alumni reminisced about their shared memories on campus, recalling lighthearted anecdotes and humorous moments. Laughter and sentiment intertwined, with each moment preserved as a cherished memory.
