Session Review | The University of Pittsburgh ECE Program Admissions Seminar Successfully Held

On November 6, 2024, Dr. Jingtong Hu, Associate Professor and William Kepler Whiteford Faculty Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), visited the Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) to deliver a lecture on on-device machine learning and conduct a information seminar for SCUPI students.

First, Prof. Jingtong Hu presented a report titled “Towards Independent On-Device AI: Inference without Battery and Learning without Labels”, focusing on two cutting-edge areas of on-device machine learning: battery-free inference and label-free learning. Both directions aim to advance on-device AI towards higher levels of autonomy and intelligence.

Furthermore, Prof. Jingtong Hu introduced the campus resources, courses structures, application requirements and other related matters about Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Pitt.

In the end, Prof. Jingtong Hu interacted with the students and answered their questions in detail. At this point, the seminar came to a successful conclusion.
