SCUPI’s IE Coordinator, Associate Professor Yang Liu, Visits Tsinghua University’s Departments of Industrial Engineering and Automation

On May 10, 2024, Associate Professor Yang Liu, serving as the Coordinator of Industrial Engineering at the Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI), engaged in a fruitful visit to both the Department of Industrial Engineering and the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University.
During the visit to the Department of Industrial Engineering, Professor Jingshan Li, the department chair, provided a comprehensive overview of the teaching and research landscape within the department, particularly emphasizing graduate student education. Discussions delved into potential avenues for collaboration, with a particular focus on the integration of medical engineering. Associate Professor Liu conveyed the strong interest of SCUPI students in pursuing studies at Tsinghua University, expressing a keen desire to facilitate future exchanges between the two institutions.
In the subsequent meeting with the Department of Automation, Associate Professor Li Cao presented the Laboratory of Detection and Electronic Technology, showcasing the latest advancements in the field. The dialogue encompassed ongoing developments in automation and shared successful collaborative ventures between Tsinghua University and domestic enterprises. Associate Professor Liu extended an invitation to Associate Professor Jin Gu to visit SCUPI at a mutually convenient time, fostering the potential for further collaboration.
