On April 25th, 45 students went to Tencent Chengdu to participate in a special open day event for SCUPI.
Through visits, listening to sharing sessions, and interactive exchanges, the students gained a deep understanding of Tencent’s corporate culture, business development, and cutting-edge technological achievements, laying a foundation and providing direction for their future career development and job preparation.

Led by professional guides, the faculty and students first visited the exhibition hall of Tencent Chengdu Tower, vividly and intuitively experiencing Tencent’s strong technological capabilities and innovative vitality, as well as its many innovative achievements, classic cases, and cutting-edge technologies in the Internet field.

During the sharing session, the Tencent Campus Recruitment Team and the Games Business Team had in-depth exchanges and interactions with the students. In his speech, Dr. Ye Li, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, expressed his sincere gratitude to Tencent Chengdu for providing the special open day event for SCUPI students, and also emphasized the important significance of university-industry cooperation in talent cultivation and academic exchanges.
Ms. Yuxian Liu, the Campus Recruitment Manager of Tencent Group, and Ms. Yang Liu from the recruitment team, elaborated on Tencent’s six major business groups and three functional systems. Campus recruitment is a very important talent strategy for Tencent. Through the sharing session, the students gained a deep understanding of the campus recruitment timeline, job types (technology, product, design, marketing, functional), resume submission methods, recruitment process, and career development pathways, providing valuable information for students who are interested in interning and working at Tencent.

The Tencent Games Business Team shared information about the IEG business and job positions. Two enthusiastic engineers from Honor of Kings answered questions from the students. The atmosphere was very lively as they discussed game development technologies and industry trends.
The group also further explored the working environment, atmosphere, and operations of various business departments at Tencent Chengdu. The Tencent Chengdu Open Day event concluded successfully in a fulfilling and pleasant atmosphere.
This event not only provided SCUPI faculty and students with the opportunity to get up close with a leading Internet company and enhance their understanding of the industry’s cutting-edge developments, but also laid a more solid foundation for future university-industry cooperation in talent cultivation and industry-academia-research collaboration. We look forward to more in-depth cooperation between the two parties in the future, jointly cultivating more outstanding innovative talents and promoting social development and progress.
