SCUPI Successfully Held its 2024 Spring Semester Faculty Meeting

On March 7, 2024, the Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) held the 2024 Spring Semester Faculty Meeting in its new building. Dean Minking Chyu, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs TsunZee Mai, Associate Dean for Research James Lee, Director of Administration Tang Wei, and over 40 faculty and staff members attended the meeting.
Dean Chyu warmly welcomed new faculty members and outlined the construction process of the Institute’s new facility. He emphasized the necessity for courses to meet the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) standards, especially the continuous improvement of course quality.
Subsequently, Associate Dean TsunZee Mai addressed teaching-related matters, covering class management, course syllabi, academic integrity, teaching assistant policies, among other topics, providing specific examples for clarification.
IT administrator Fred Liu concluded the meeting by introducing the Institute’s network, teaching systems, and other facilities, aiding instructors in familiarizing themselves with the software and hardware settings of the new building.
Faculty members actively participated in discussions, raising questions, and engaging in dialogue on relevant issues. This meeting not only provided a platform for learning and communication for new faculty members but also underscored the Institute’s teaching management requirements for all faculty members, ensuring the high-quality and orderly operation of classes in the 2024 spring semester.
