SCUPI signed partnership agreement with FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch

On November 4, 2024, Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) signed a partnership agreement with FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch, officially designating the institute as a cooperative partner of FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch.
This signing is not only an important milestone in the collaboration between the two parties, but also an active exploration to deepen the integration of industry enterprises with higher education institutions. By establishing an integrated platform for industry, academia, research, and application, both sides aim to achieve a deep integration of students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills, jointly cultivating high-quality talent in the automotive industry with innovative thinking and practical abilities, and injecting new vitality and momentum into the transformation and high-quality development of China’s automotive industry.
Dean Chyu delivered a welcoming speech, noting that on the occasion of the SCUPI tenth anniversary, collaborating with a leading company like FAW-Volkswagen is a model of university-industry cooperation. He expressed hope that through in-depth collaboration, the quality of talent cultivation at the institute would be effectively enhanced, actively supporting FAW-Volkswagen future high-quality development and jointly contributing to the prosperous growth of China’s automotive industry.
In his speech, Human Resources Director Haitao Wang highlighted that this partnership not only provides FAW-Volkswagen with a talented workforce but also offers a platform for both parties to jointly explore new models of talent cultivation and promote innovation in the automotive industry. He expressed anticipation for collaborating with SCUPI to nurture more high-quality talent that meets the future demands of the automotive sector.
Following this, Director Haitao Wang and Dean Minking Chyu signed the cooperation agreement. Quan Lu and Ye Li, leaderships from both parties jointly unveiled the talent joint cultivation base, with Director Haitao Wang and Dean Chyu in attendance to witness the moment.
In the future, both sides will collaborate in training automotive industry talents and develop customized internship and training programs. This partnership aims to further deepen the integration of production and education between FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch and higher education institutions, while actively fostering high-quality graduates equipped with innovative thinking and practical skills.
