On November 6th, 2023, 300 freshmen from the Class of 2027 visited the History Exhibition Hall and the Museum of Sichuan University.

This visit provided students with the opportunity to personally experience our university’s precious historical artifacts, photographs, and documents, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of our university’s rich history and unique culture.

The History Exhibition Hall primarily consists of images and texts, supplemented by a wealth of historical artifacts, archives, and other materials, comprehensively reflecting the development history of Sichuan University.

Among the important materials collected during different periods, there are archives and materials of numerous excellent individuals who studied at the university. This allows the freshmen to be influenced by the achievements of outstanding predecessors, inspiring them to set clear goals for their own future with outstanding alumni as role models.

Over the past century, the Museum of Sichuan University has accumulated a rich collection, currently comprising over 85,000 cultural relics, including stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings, ceramics, bronze artifacts, ancient coins, seals, embroideries, lacquerware, rubbings, and more. The collections, especially in the areas of calligraphy and painting, ceramics, fine arts, as well as ethnic and folk artifacts, have gained recognition in the domestic cultural and museum circles.

This visit offered students a valuable learning experience. Students expressed that exploring the History Exhibition Hall and the Museum of Sichuan University deepened their understanding of the university’s developmental journey and enhanced their appreciation for Sichuan’s rich ethnic culture. This experience strengthened their sense of belonging and pride. As SCUPI students, the profound historical heritage of Sichuan University instills in them the confidence to navigate the challenges of the world.
