Majors Exploring and Changing Spring Seminar 2025 was Held

To help the students have a better understanding of their majors and clarify the process of major changing, Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) hosted the 2025 Spring Semester Major Seminar.
Professors Yang Liu, Jin Xu, Shan Gong, Lawrence Lam, and Yong Zhao, the coordinators of the five majors of Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), and Computer Science (CS), shared their views on each major with the students.
Some of them started from the historical origins of the major, some from the curriculum, and gave a basic introduction of a certain major. After that, they shared the possibilities of further study and career prospects either by the examples of the outstanding SCUPI alumni, or by their own experience.
This event aims to help the SCUPI students with making a well-informed decision when considering major changing, and to provide guidance for students’ future planning.
