Recently, the Beijing alumni gathering of Sichuan University – University of Pittsburgh Joint Institute (SCUPI) was successfully held in Beijing. With the theme of “Rekindling Friendship and Discussing the Future”, alumni from different graduating classes gathered together to reminisce about their campus days, share their career development experiences, and look forward to the future of their industries.

During the sharing session, 2020 alumnus He Longfei, based on his own experiences, shared his growth experiences and workplace insights in the enterprise. 2019 alumnus Xu Hekai, on the other hand, gave a thematic presentation on “The Development and Future of Artificial Intelligence”, and provided sincere and practical advice on issues of common concern to alumni, such as “Choosing a large or small company”, “Whether to change majors”, “How to handle relationships with mentors and leaders”, and “Strategies for dealing with difficulties in research and work”. The event was filled with lively interactions and a strong atmosphere of communication.

The college leaders also came to the scene in person to offer messages and encouragement to the alumni. Dr.TZ Mai reviewed the original intention of establishing the SCUPI Alumni Association, emphasizing the significance of the alumni network for both individual and college development. He stated, “The Institute will always be the home of the alumni. No matter where you are, the SCUPI Alumni Association platform will continue to provide support for you.” Dr.Mai encouraged the alumni to maintain a positive attitude, be brave to try, not be afraid of setbacks, and boldly explore the various possibilities of life.

Dean Chyu briefly introduced the current situation of the college to the alumni and expressed gratitude for their long-term concern and support for the college. He said, ” SCUPI is a solid backing for every alumnus and is proud of the achievements of each of you. We welcome you to come back home often and look forward to your active participation in the future construction and development of the institute.”

During the free exchange session, alumni from the class of 2019 to 2025 engaged in lively discussions on topics such as further studies, job hunting, and industry trends, inspiring each other and reaping rich rewards. The event came to a close in a warm and lively atmosphere, with everyone bidding farewell with reluctance and making appointments to meet again. The Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute has always been committed to building communication bridges between alumni and the institute, as well as among alumni. In the future, the institute will continue to bring together more alumni strength through diverse activities and platforms, and jointly build a SCUPI alumni family that is mutually supportive, sharing, and continuously growing.
