Event Review | The Global Pathways Workshop Series · Phase I Successfully Concluded

Recently, the first session of the Global Pathways Workshop Series · Phase I, organized by the Career Advising Group (CA) of Sichuan University–Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI), concluded successfully. The workshops were held every Friday from late September to late October in Room N111.

The five-part series aimed to help students prepare for their future academic and professional plans through sessions on overseas study applications, school selection, language test preparation, and dual-path strategies for studying both in China and abroad.

From CV to PS: Crafting Your Application Story

On 26 September, Ms. Wenxi Mou from the CA guided students through the key details of writing and refining an application CV. Together with Ms. Lan Luo and Ms. Keru Chen, they offered tailored advice and encouraged students to tell their own stories through compelling personal statements.

Step One in Study Abroad: Choosing the Right School

On 10 October, Ms. Wenxi Mou, Ms. Lan Luo and Ms. Keru Chen from the CA, together with Ms. Elsa Qiu and Ms. Zhiran Yang from the OSA(Office of Study Abroad), provided one-on-one consultations to help students align academic backgrounds and personal goals with appropriate institutions—ensuring smarter, more efficient school choices.

TOEFL/IELTS Preparation: The Secrets to a Higher Score

On 17 October, OSA’s language instructors, Ms. Penny Xie and Ms. Sylvie Chen, offered strategic preparation tips based on each student’s English proficiency and target scores, helping them strengthen the linguistic foundation crucial for competitive applications.

Navigating Dual Tracks: Domestic & International Pathways

On 24 October, Ms. Keru Chen from CA encouraged students to pursue both domestic and overseas options simultaneously. By mapping out application timelines for the second and third years, she helped participants plan with confidence and flexibility.

Planning & Decision-Making: Finding Your Own Path

Through this five-week journey of sharing and discussion, students gradually developed a clearer sense of direction. In a supportive and open environment, they gained practical planning methods, exchanged insights, and refined their personal goals. With that, the first session of the Global Pathways Workshop came to a successful close.

Though the workshops have ended, the support continues. The Career Advising Group will keep assisting students with academic development and career planning. All students are welcome to book personalized consultations at any time.
