Event Recap | Successful Conclusion of the Undergraduate Transfer Pathway (2+X) Sharing Session

To help students accurately grasp the dynamics of transferring and scientifically plan their educational pathways, the Career Advising Group (CA) of Sichuan University–Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) recently successfully held a specialized guidance session on Undergraduate Transfer Pathway (2+X). The event focused on transfer trends and application strategies, providing students with professional and detailed guidance.

Held on October 24th, this session provided an in-depth analysis of the transfer situations for the Class of 2023 in Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Computer Science (CS), and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Based on data, valuable experiences and suggestions were shared.
The event was hosted by Ms. Lan Luo from the Career Advising Group (CA), who served as the main speaker, and featured a joint presentation by Ms. Grace Wang from the Office of Study Abroad (OSA). Together, they addressed students’ questions and concerns.
During the sharing session, Lan first introduced recent transfer trends and provided a comprehensive summary of the application and admission statistics for the “2+2” and “2+X” joint programs for the Class of 2023, based on official admission data from multiple well-known institutions. She detailed the specific data of successful transfers to date and analyzed the admission difficulties and core requirements of target universities, focusing on key factors such as language scores and academic GPA. Additionally, Lan highlighted newly added popular universities for applications in recent years, broadening students’ perspectives on school selection.

In the following interactive Q&A session, Lan and Grace patiently and meticulously answered questions from students and faculty in attendance. They supplemented their explanations with real and vivid student cases, providing not only practical references but also firm psychological support for the students. Lan encouraged students to actively communicate their personal plans with advisors in the Career and Academic Advising Department, make good use of the school’s resources, and jointly empower their future growth.
