Event Introduction

On May 9th, the Mini Seminar meticulously planned by the Peer Advisors (PA) team was successfully held in Jiang’an South Campus. The Mini Seminar is a sharing and exchange event targeted at all first-year students, aiming to help them adapt to university life, broaden their horizons for growth, and facilitate communication among peers. This event featured ten small seminars on different topics, covering learning methods, life skills, social experiences, and entertainment.

Group 1: A Round-the-World Music Visa for Your Ears

The first group led students on a musical journey across time and space. They used lively explanations and selected music clips to help students establish a basic framework for music appreciation.


Group 2: Strength Building – How to Showcase Your Abilities

The second group combined their experiences to share how to showcase professional expertise in academic exchanges, balance confidence and humility, and convert classroom knowledge into personal academic capital, providing students with a systematic guide for academic growth.

Group 3: Tips on Maximizing Student Email Benefits & Travel Guide

The third group thoughtfully shared some practical information with students. They explained how college students should view and face life pressures and detailed how students can use their student email to access various practical software.


Group 4: Enjoy Life with Limited Living Costs – Chengdu Version

The fourth group shared methods for enjoying life with limited living costs in Chengdu. They explained techniques for allocating living expenses and keeping accounts, introduced consumer psychology and money-saving tips, covering aspects such as food, shopping, and transportation.

Group 5: Social Practice and Volunteer Service

The fifth group shared experiences in social practice and volunteer service. They introduced how to participate in volunteer activities, including joining clubs, paying attention to grade group notifications, and self-registering through formal platforms.

Group 6: Treat Campus Life as a Game

The sixth group suggested that students could treat university life as a game. They shared the importance of teamwork, role division, and communication and collaboration skills. They also introduced how to manage physical and mental energy.


Group 7: Advanced University Guide

The seventh group shared content on resource navigation, email writing, and developing hobbies. They introduced methods for finding resources such as Chinese and English literature, emphasizing the importance of using the Sichuan University student email.

Group 8: A Fantastic Journey Through Music and Movies

The eighth group shared clips from classic Hollywood musical films and independent music movies. The event also included interactive sessions like “Guess the Music,” leading audiences to experience the infinite possibilities of art in a visual and auditory feast.


Group 9: Tips for Summer Campus

The ninth group shared experiences related to applications for transfers and summer camps. For applications, they explained how to choose schools and prepare after receiving offers. In terms of summer camps, they shared some insights and precautions based on their experiences.

Group 10: Balance Work and Rest

The tenth group shared methods for finding balance in busy studies. Facing academic pressures, interpersonal relationships, and research competition, they advocated for “accepting what cannot be changed and bravely changing what can be changed,” using hobbies and positive interpersonal relationships to relieve stress.

Event Summary
The Mini Seminar event received widespread attention and praise from students. Each group shares invaluable experiences and advice. These contents comprehensively covered various aspects of study and life and reflected the deep concern and earnest expectations of the seniors towards their juniors. They unreservedly shared their experiences and insights, hoping to help every student better tackle the various challenges of university life and improve their self-management and growth abilities.
