Deepen University – Industry Cooperation, Expand Opportunities with Faw- Volkswagen

On the afternoon of January 9th, in order to strengthen and deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research and build a new pattern of close cooperation between the university and industry, the delegation led by Dr. Minking Chyu, Dean of Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI)，along with relevant department heads and professor representatives, went to FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch for on-site visits and investigations.
During the meeting, Chengdu Branch provided a detailed introduction to the development history, core business, production scale, and future development strategies of the branch. Subsequently, both parties had in-depth discussions on the application of quality control, industrial engineering, and environmental protection in the field of automobile manufacturing, further deepening the cooperation between the university and the enterprise.
SCUPI delegation visited the Jetta Building, welding, final assembly production lines, and special workshops of Chengdu Branch to gain a deeper understanding of the outstanding achievements and innovative practices of Chengdu Branch in technological research and development, production operations, and talent cultivation. Through this visit and exchange, both parties reached a consensus in areas such as resource sharing, collaborative education, and technological innovation. Both parties will further refine the content of the strategic cooperation agreement and jointly foster an elevated and more profound collaboration between the university and industry, achieving mutual benefits, and co-creating a more promising future together.
