Deans’ Open Forum Successfully Held at SCUPI

On March 15th, at 1 p.m., the “Deans’ Open Forum” hosted by Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) took place in the multi-functional interactive space on the first floor of the new building at the Jiang’an South Campus of Sichuan University. The event was attended by Dean Minking Chyu, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs TsunZee Mai, Associate Dean for Research James Lee, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Ye Li,  Director of Administration Wei Tang, as well as staff representatives from various departments. The meeting moderated by student counselor Fan Yang.

At the onset of the meeting, Dean Minking Chyu extended a warm welcome to all attendees, guiding them through a retrospective of SCUPI’s decade-long journey while underscoring the institute’s enduring dedication to prioritizing students at the core of its mission. He underscored the forum’s importance in fostering robust communication between faculty and students, elevating teaching standards, and enriching student support services. Dean Chyu urged students to actively engage in SCUPI’s advancement initiatives, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping the institute’s trajectory.

During the interactive session, SCUPI’s leadership actively engaged students in discussions spanning diverse facets of academic and campus life. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, TsunZee Mai, responded to inquiries concerning course feedback, encouraging students to play an active role in advancing the institute’s teaching quality. Associate Dean for Research, James Lee, underscored the significance of research opportunities and innovation. Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Ye Li, provided valuable insights into the construction and functionality of the new building. Director of Administration, Wei Tang, shared inspiring student success stories, motivating students to capitalize on resources provided by SCUPI for personal and academic growth.

The successful convening of the “SCUPI Deans’ Open Forum” not only enhanced communication between institute leaders and students but also invigorated the institute’s advancement. Upholding the values of openness, inclusivity, and innovation, the institute will persist in refining the educational milieu, enhancing service standards, and furnishing students with an enriched learning and living environment.
