Congratulations: Yuzhe Wang was admitted to the Ph.D. Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and 5 other Universities

Yuzhe Wang, a student of the 2024 class from Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI), majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, was admitted to Ph.D. programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Columbia University, UC Berkeley, University of Chicago, Cornell University, and Johns Hopkins University with full scholarship. All these 7 universities are world-renowned higher education institutions, especially MIT and Stanford University respectively ranking second and third in the United States according to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report ranking system.

During his undergraduate studies at SCUPI, Yuzhe Wang achieved excellent academic performance and was awarded the Dean’s List at SCUPI and the First Class Scholarship at Sichuan University. He actively participated in the research project in his sophomore year. In addition, Yuzhe Wang also actively participated in student organizations and activities. In his freshman year, Wang Yuzhe joined the debate team, and through continuous efforts, he grew into an excellent debater and served as the captain of the debate team. Furthermore, Yuzhe Wang also played many roles such as class president of his major and Peer Advisor.

Starting from his junior year, Yuzhe Wang went to Cornell University through the SCUPI “2+2” program. He reached out to a professor in related fields and joined their research projects. Later, he also went to Columbia University for a research project during his summer vacation to further explore and expand his interest in scientific research.

In the company of research and student activities, Yuzhe Wang said that his undergraduate life is fulfilling, happy, and focused, and he has set the academic goal of continuing his education as a Ph.D. student. The platforms and opportunities provided by SCUPI and Cornell University have allowed him to grow and change.

Yuzhe Wang is the second student at SCUPI who received an offer from MIT. During his undergraduate years, he continued to experiment and achieve breakthroughs in his academic, research, and student endeavors. His initiative serves as a valuable example for all undergraduate students.
