From March 4th to March 25th, every Monday from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, students gathered in Room 210, Zone 4 of the Liberal Arts Building to engage in discussions about academic planning and career development with Rita and Lan from the Career Advising Group (CA).
In a relaxed atmosphere, students actively shared their thoughts on various academic and career-related topics. Some expressed uncertainties about their choice of major, while others sought clarification on the timing and requirements for changing majors. Additionally, students had questions about overseas grad school applications and dual-degree programs, as well as concerns about the employment prospects and future career directions in their fields. The career advisors listened attentively and provided sincere answers and advice tailored to each student’s situation. The advisors elaborated on the timeframe and requirements for changing majors, as well as information regarding overseas grad school applications and dual-degree programs. They also reminded students interested in changing majors to refer to the 2024 policy at Sichuan University’s Academic Affairs Department. Furthermore, the advisors provided thorough introductions to internship opportunities and career directions, including career exploration programs such as the Airbus Discovery Week and the Volvo Lighthouse Program for freshmen and sophomores, and internship referral opportunities such as GE Healthcare and Airbus for juniors and seniors. Also, they encouraged all students to study diligently and strive for internship opportunities in the future.
This event not only reflects students’ concerns and reflections on their own career paths but also demonstrates their aspirations and explorations for the future. In response to students’ inquiries, the two advisors listened attentively and provided strong assistance and guidance for students’ future planning based on each student’s individual circumstances. As the event drew to a close, a student was lucky enough to draw the meticulously prepared gift from CA. This surprise expresses CA’s gratitude for everyone’s support and marks the perfect end to the event.
While the ‘Coffee Chat with CA’ event has concluded, CA remains committed to supporting students in their career development journey. We encourage more participation in future events to share knowledge and explore possibilities together!
