A Great Success – Senior Project Symposium of the Year 2023

On May 19th, 2023, the senior project symposium 2023 of Sichuan University – Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) was held at Jiang’an Gym.
The symposium highlights the accomplishments of the 36 senior project teams. Students from Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Materials Science Engineering (MSE) have been working through the design process to build answers to real-world challenges from the conception of an idea through its execution.
Dr. TANG Ruoliang, senior project coordinator of SCUPI, gave a brief opening remark.
The IE projects, which span a range of administrative and medical concerns, were developed in association with the West China Hospital research center.
The ME projects use a variety of techniques to address interdisciplinary problems, including mechanical design, system dynamics, heat transfer mechanisms, and manufacturing.
The MSE programs create novel material-based solutions for a range of applications by combining computational and experimental approaches.
SCUPI faculty and students voted one First prize, two Second prizes, three third prizes and three Honorable Mentions.
