On December 3, 2015, the first 2016 SCUPI Admission Information Session was held at Chongqing High School in Chongzhou, Sichuan Province. Director Jia Xiu’e from SCU’s Admission Office, Dr. Xiao Bo from the College of Chemistry, Prof. Yu Pengfei from the School of Materials Sciences and Engineering, and SCUPI Administrators Ms. Xue and Ms. Zhou attended the Awarding Ceremony of Quality Student Base from Sichuan University to Chongqing High School.

From January 5-7, 2016, the second round of the 2016 SCUPI Admission Information Session was launched in Shandong province. SCUPI administrator Ms. Qianni Zhang, visited Shandong Provincial Academy of Education Recruitment and Examination (AERE), Qingdao No.2 Middle School, and Shandong Experimental High School to introduce SCUPI, its partner universities, faculty, recruitment plan, academic programs, and features. In the fall of 2015, SCUPI enrolled its first class of one hundred students hailing from Sichuan, Chongqing, Beijing, Liaoning, Shandong, Zhejiang, Hunan and Yunnan. Among them, thirty-five are enrolled in Industrial Engineering (IE), thirty-five in Mechanical Engineering (ME), and thirty in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE).


In 2016, SCUPI will continue to recruit students who meet Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute’s admissions criteria through the National College Entrance Examination. In addition, SCUPI offers an independent institution recruitment code, which provides opportunities for students from across China to study at the esteemed Sichuan University. Students meeting transfer criteria and academic requirements may transfer to a different major within the institute.
